$70m resort refused for Vic Great Ocean Rd

The Victorian government has knocked back a $70 million resort development for the iconic Great Ocean Road region.

A $70 million resort development has been rejected for Victoria's scenic Great Ocean Road region.

The state government said the luxury Oceans United Investment Group proposal, which drew almost 300 objectors, was inappropriate for the Apollo Bay township.

Planning Minister Richard Wynne said the plan was too big and would have a negative impact on the environment.
