CORELOGIC HOUSE PRICES

Due: Monday

Period: June 25-29

Last Result: More homes were taken to auction in the week to May 27, but the rate of properties sold remains near a five-year low amid weak selling conditions. There were 2,287 homes up for auction, a slight increase on the 2,100 homes in the prior week, returning an auction clearance rate of 59.7 per cent.

ABS BUILDING APPROVALS

Due: Tuesday

Period: May

Last Result: Dwelling approvals dropped five per cent in April, compared to analyst forecasts of a three per cent decline. Approvals were still up about two per cent annually, but are now far weaker than the double-digit increases seen in 2017.

RBA INTEREST RATE DECISION

Due: Tuesday

Last Result: The Reserve Bank held the official cash rate at 1.5 per cent for the 21st consecutive month in May, saying weak household spending and sluggish wages growth remain a concern for the economy.

ABS RETAIL TRADE

Due: Wednesday

Period: May

Last Result: The latest retail spending data showed an increase of 0.4 per cent to $26.6 billion, seasonally adjusted, with cafes, restaurants and takeaways leading the rise, helped by an unusually warm April.

ABS INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN GOODS AND SERVICES

Due: Wednesday

Period: May

Last Result: The balance on goods and services was a surplus of $1.5 billion in April, an increase of $300m on the surplus in March 2018.
